The Irish Defence Forces visited Kiltealy N.S. on Monday the 23rd of November . The officers delivered the tricolour and copies of the proclamation ahead of the 1916 Centenary Celebrations. An extract from the Proclamation was read by Ian Blake. Saoirse Hanrahan and Ryan Dunne were presented with the National Flag on behalf of the school. The pupils then had a chance to ask the members of the Defence Force questions about the Irish Army and 1916
Congratulations to first and Second Class,who won the tidiest and most energy efficient classroom for November.
This weeks split the pot winner is Abigail Cullen who won €196.00 . Many thanks to everyone who continues to support our “Split the Pot” fund. Don’t forget envelopes are available in the usual outlets in Kiltealy. One entry costs €2, if your not in, you can’t win
The Retirement Mass for Mrs Kavanagh takes place this Saturday (21st Nov) at 7pm,followed by refreshments in the Parish Hall.
There is great excitement in our school as two members of the Irish Defence Forces plan to attend the school to present the Irish flag to us. The special presentation is part of next years 1916 Centenary commemorations.

The pupils of 5th and 6th class visited Bunclody Vocational College last Friday. It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to visit the school and to try out some new subjects. Technology and French seemed to be the favourites.

This week four pupils from the FCJ, visited Kiltealy School to collect gift filled shoeboxes for children in need. This shoebox is a treasure to these children as it may well be their only gift this year.
It was nice to welcome back the 4 past pupils of Kiltealy School, who volunteered their help for this worthy cause.
